Project Title: Sickle Cell Adult Provider Network (SCAPN): Expanding A Resource for the Study of Adult Sickle Cell Disease

The overall aim of the project is to enhance and expand the capacity of the Sickle Cell Adult Provider Network (SCAPN) to further research efforts directed at the adult sickle cell population. In doing so, the organization will also be better positioned to further its work in best practices development, healthcare provider education and training, and recruitment and retention of healthcare providers to serve the adult sickle cell disease population.

In order to achieve this aim, we propose the following specific activities;

1. Formalize a network of adult sickle cell disease researchers

2. Establish survey research procedures to enhance clinical study development

3. Enhance the existing SCAPN website

4. Establish SCAPN as a formal organization with 501(c)3 status
